Homework Book

Every child will be given a specially designed homework book at
the beginning of every academic year.
Homework Pack

Every child will be given a 'Homework Pack' at the beginning of
every academic year. This pack will contain various items to assist with
homework and will include a pencil, ruler, rubber and bookmark.
Spellings

Monday - All children in every class will be given a list of spellings to learn that week.
These spellings will be tested every Friday.
The spellings will be written in the child's homework book.
Times Tables

Times tables will be in the back of the book and it will be ongoing homework for children to learn their tables. Table tests in class will also be carried out weekly. From September 2002 we will be running a times table initiative. Details will be sent out in September.
So - spellings and tables go home on a Monday
and will be tested on a Friday in every class every week.
Reading Books

Children are encouraged to have a reading book at home all the time and arrangements are made to change these books at a set time during lesson time but children can change books before or after school any day. Parents are welcome to come in and choose with their child. Teachers will make sure that every child has a reading book at home on a Friday.
Homework Task

Every class will be given a 'Homework Task' on a Friday. This task will be designed to involve the rest of the family. It may be Maths or English or it may be something to do with the topic that is going on in class at that time. Whatever the homework task, it will be used as follow up work in class.
There will be an opportunity for children to complete homework at school either at our Breakfast Club or our Homework Club on a Monday lunchtime.
